- Test the candle. 👏 Always👏 Test 👏 Your 👏 Candle. Regardless of brand or familiarity with brand. 👏 Always👏 Test 👏 Your 👏 Candle.
Warnings:
If an allergic reaction occurs immediately stop use and seek medical help. Wicked Sensory candles are made with a blend of paraffin, soy, and coconut waxes.
**If you have an allergy to any of these do not use candles available on our website. Please contact our team at support@wickedsensory.com for additional assistance
Some people may experience some mild skin irritation. Especially those with pre-existing skin conditions that increase skin sensitivity. For those that experience this, please do not use our product.
If pain from wax does occur immediately stop use and rinse the area with room temperature water.
For burns please follow the Mayo Clinic’s first aid advice for burns found here.
How to test: - testing is not just about heat, testing a small sensitive area will allow you to look for skin reactions. While extremely rare, your safety is our main concern.
Always use on clean, dry skin. Avoid above the shoulders and genital areas.
- Testing Your Wicked Sensory Candle
-
Light & Warm Up
Light your Wicked Sensory candle and let it burn for about 2–3 minutes so the wax melts into a smooth pool.
-
Test the Temperature
Hold the candle roughly 8 inches above your wrist, forearm, or the back of your hand. Let 6–7 drops fall on to your chosen location.
-
Adjust for Comfort
If the heat feels perfect, you’re good to go. If it’s too warm, raise the candle a bit. Too cool? Lower it slightly. Everyone’s comfort zone is different — this is where you find yours.
-
Try a Different Spot if Needed
If the sensation is too intense in that area, try again in a less sensitive area until you find a placement and height you like.
Pro Tip: Warm the skin first with a warm towel for a less intense sensation (just make sure to pat it completely dry before the wax).
-
Move to Pouring
Let your candle burn another 5 minutes to build up more melted wax. Extinguish the flame, then slowly pour the pooled wax over your wrist, forearm, or the back of your hand — using the height you liked best. Adjust if needed.
-
Share the Experience
Once you’re confident with the sensation, try it on your partner (always with their consent).
After testing
To pour longer streaks:
- Light the candle and let the wax pool for 5-8 minutes.
- Confirm the testing procedure above has been completed for safety.
- Pour slowly and steadily from an agreed distance to get desired effect.
- Communicate with each other, adjustments during play are often needed.
To create droplets:
- Light the candle for 2-3 minutes.
- Confirm the testing procedure above has been completed for safety.
- Tilt the candle slightly to start dripping. (This will have to be adjusted as play continues. We suggest manipulating the candle tops/walls as needed. Getting an even melt can be a learning process)
- Letting droplets accumulate/puddle on the skin will cause runs with larger beads at the end
- Communicate with each other, adjustments during play are often needed
Safety First
- NEVER use on broken or irritated skin
- Keep away from eyes, mouth, and genitals
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Lit candles should be placed on a clean, flat & stable area that has been pre-prepared. NEVER place a candle, lit or otherwise, on the bed. Always designate a safe surface that has been pre-prepared.
- If using a bed, stand along the side while administering the wax. Administering wax while in the bed causes unnecessary fire hazards.
Cleanup Tips
- Wax peels off easily once cooled
- Use warm water and gentle soap if needed
- Credit cards work great for scraping gently if needed
- For hairy skin - use a thin layer of baby powder before use for easier clean up
- For smooth skin - a thin layer of baby oil, mineral oil, oil-based lotion before you for easier clean up
- Do not use a hair dryer or another type of heat source as this could damage the skin.
- Clean as much off as possible before showering. Only residual wax left on the skin should be showered off. If large amounts of wax are introduced damage could occur to your drain system.
